Romans 12:2

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

Stay Clear of the Trash!

I got a revelation from God recently. I have always struggled with guilt and feelings of inadequacy. I was trying to get closer to God while still dragging this weighty baggage. Each step meant that I was closer to His light which revealed my filth. With guilt piling on top of more guilt, I came to the point of being unable to take another step forward. It was at my breaking point that God imparted His wisdom; "Get out of the way of the trash."

I was floored. It was a clear voice, but it took me a moment to realize what He was saying. God was trying to deep clean my inner being-but I was standing in the way! Instead of allowing God to throw out the bad to sanctify me (help me become more like Christ), I was holding on to it, as if the filth could make me cleaner. It was the equivalent of me standing in the trashcan and crying when I got trash thrown at me! I still struggle with these thoughts, but this imagery is what I have been leaning on to help me walk righteously and away from the path of trash!

I hope this revelation helps you too!
